First founded in 1794 by Quaker settlers, Brookeville is a peaceful community in southern Maryland between the cities of Baltimore and Washington D.C. The town was named by Richard Thomas and Deborah Brooke after her family, as she inherited the land from her father. In 1802, the first post office was established, and in 1808, Brookeville finally incorporated as an actual town.

Hawlings River Regional Park is largely undeveloped, but it has hundreds of acres of gorgeous forest, with some natural trails cutting through it. Seneca Creek State Park is by Gaithersburg and is centered around Clopper Lake, with various day-use facilities making for an entertaining place to spend the day outdoors with your Brookeville RV rental. You can go swimming in the lake, or fish for crappie, bass, trout, and other sorts of fish. Kayaking is another way to make the most of Clopper Lake, and there are over 50 miles of trails weaving around the park that you can try. Overall we had a really great experience with Forrest and the van! It's a longer one at 22 feet so felt spacious for two people and easy enough to drive. The bed is very comfortable and there is LOTS of storage for clothes, gear, food, dishes, etc. The van has all the basics for cooking plus a toaster and an air fryer which was great to have. The doors have screens, which is nice for cooking and hanging out when it's warm. There is hot water too! Nice windows near the bed, nice to have fresh air when sleeping. Forrest provided nice sheets, blankets and towels.
