Getting Outdoors

Those keen anglers among you will be pleased to hear that McGee Creek Reservoir is famous among Oklahoma natives as a prime fishing lake. McGhee Creek Reservoir is home to a wide range of fish species, each with its own unique sporting characteristics. The lake is best known for its bass fish, largemouth, smallmouth, black, and striped - many of these reaching trophy size. Alongside the bass, there are also high numbers of crappie, sunfish, channel catfish, and bluegill. Whether McGee Creek Reservoir campers fish from the extensive forty-mile shoreline or a boat out on the lake, with such fertile waters, success is almost guaranteed here.

Camping at McGee Creek Reservoir

Those RV camping at McGee Creek Reservoir will have a number of choices when it comes to choosing a campsite. McGee Creek State Park, just south of the lake, offers campers a perfect campsite directly along the shores of the lake itself. The campsite provides hookups, including 20, 30 amp electric, and water. Facilities here include a dump station, restrooms, showers, and a children’s playground. There are many pull-thru sites at the campsite, meaning all sized rigs are welcomed.

Exploring the Area

The nearby city of Atoka, although small, has a few places of interest for anyone willing to scratch the surface. The ‘Atoka Museum and Confederate Cemetery’ is a must-see when in the Atoka County area. This local museum showcases a wide range of exhibitions and artifacts spanning the entire history of this area of America, from the Native American tribes that called this area home, right through to the modern-day. There is also a uniquely small Civil War cemetery located on-site, containing the graves of Confederate soldiers who died at the local Fort McCulloch.

Elizabeth and Justine were very communicative and helpful. Justin delivered the camper and walked us through the whole process and steps to use it accordingly. We would love to rent their camper again for future uses!!

Tony was great! We will definitely use them again. RV was clean, everything you needed as far as basic necessities (linens, pots/pans, etc.) was provided. This particular RV is VERY spacious, I loved the feel of it, it was like being in a tiny home. I could've stayed longer no problem. If you're looking for space and comfort of your own home, this is the way to go. Call Tony & his wife!

This RV provided the best open layout for our 8 day trip and was stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed. Will mark as our favorite and rent again for Beavers Bend State Park!
