Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
About 25 miles north of Philadelphia lies the unincorporated community of Oaks, Pennsylvania. When the town was first founded, it was a crossroads between two rivers. They were both heavily used for trade and transportation due to the town's proximity to surrounding cities and farmland. A canal was eventually created to direct traffic, but the local railroad system quickly became much more useful. The city's name comes from the canal designer, Thomas Oakes.
