The quaint borough of Waynesboro is located between Hagerstown and Gettysburg. Full of history, this town was founded in the mid-1700s by Scotsman John Wallace, who bought the deed to over 600 acres of the area's land. The land was handed down through the Wallace family and was originally known as Wallacetown.

Eventually, the town was renamed Waynesboro after General Anthony Wayne, a commanding officer during the American Revolutionary War. Known as a frontier town due to its position near the Mason-Dixon Line, Waynesboro has a long military history and is close to many great outdoor sights. These sights make a camper rental in Waynesboro perfect if you're looking to explore nature and learn a little history.
