Interstate State Park is currently the oldest state park in Wisconsin is one of the most loved state parks and is a perfect escape for a motorhome camping trip. Covering 1330-acres of forested land, the state park lies within the Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway and the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve in the city of Saint Croix Falls, WI, and includes the scenic Dalles of St. Croix River. Surrounded by basalt cliffs, cavernous depressions, stunning rock formations, and miles of trails, its no surprise why Interstate State Park is considered one of the best state parks in the area where you can go camping with an RV.  Wisconsin's state park is adjacent and alongside Interstate State Park in Minnesota, and a highlight of the state park is the scenic Taylor Falls.

While Interstate State Park was established in 1900, it covers an area that dates back to the Paleozoic Era- a cool 470 million years ago! The state park surroundings have evolved and given rise to a variety of habitats too. Eastern white pines, maples, and basswood forests abound, and although the original forestation of the area was denuded by loggers in the 18th century, the park is flourishing with second-growth forests with over 400 species of trees and plants.

An RV is a convenient way of traveling through Interstate State Park, and you’ll find a range of affordable RV rentals in Polk County. The area of Interstate State Park has been popular with tourists even before the park came into being, thanks to the St. Croix River and many steamboats that would traverse its waters. Today, you can explore the river and the park when you go camping at Interstate State Park.
