This small town lies in the northeast corner of the state, less than 10 miles from the border with Michigan and around 30 miles from the Ohio border. The nearest large city is Fort Wayne, around 50 miles to the southeast, while the state's capital, Indianapolis, is almost 200 miles to the southwest. LaGrange is located in the heart of Amish country, and many of the nearby attractions showcase the culture of this unique group.

Wineries, cultural centers, and museums are found nearby, while several locally-owned restaurants dot the area as well. Some of these feature homemade Amish dishes, with some serving meals the traditional way, family-style. After enjoying all those calories, you'll need a way to work them off. Fortunately, there are also several nature centers, preserves and outdoor sites available in the nearby region as well.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Shipshewana RV park is found less than 10 miles to the east of town. The park is open the middle of April through the middle of November and is located right near downtown. This allows it to offer easy access to all the nearby attractions. Full-hookups and WiFi are provided.

Twin Mills Camping Resort is located in Howe, Indiana, around seven miles north of town. This site is also open April through November. It features all the amenities you could hope for, including some lakeside sites. Both short-and long-term stays can be accommodated.
