An easy drive along the US 9 Highway heading south from Perth Amboy takes you to the rustic wilderness of Turkey Swamp Park. This impressive wilderness preserve encompasses more than 2200 acres of wooded parkland that also features a 17 acre lake as its centerpiece. It?s hard to believe that New York and Philadelphia are only hours away. Closer attractions include the Monmouth Battlefield State Park and the Charleston Springs Golf Course. Visitors are welcome to explore the park, which was preserved specifically with campers, hikers, and other outdoor enthusiasts in mind. The surrounding forests are made up of pine and oak trees, along with thick, bracken ferns. Fishing is a popular activity from the shoreline or a watercraft, and guests can rent kayaks, rowboats, canoes, or paddle-boats from within the park. All of the campsites are in a wooded area, and electrical service is available all year round throughout the park, but water hookups are seasonal. There?s also a self-service dump station available for recreational vehicles.

Timberlane Campground is a private family owned campground, with a kind, courteous staff. The campground is situated on 20 acres, with both open and wooded sites. They also have a catch and release fishing pond for both novice and experienced anglers. Whitetail deer and wild turkey are frequent guests at the campground.Timberlane Campground is centrally located, only 1/2 mile off Interstate 295, and only 15 minutes from the Philadelphia downtown historical district. This is a perfect place for families. They have a game room, play ground, swimming pools and fishing pond. The bathrooms are modern and very clean with hot showers, and are handicap accessible. For your convenience, there are laundry facilities and LP gas on the grounds.The Campground has 82 RV Sites, 14 Tent Sites, 82 Full Hookup, 14 No Hookup, 30 Amps, 82 50 Amps, 51 Pull Thru sites. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table, and other on-site amenities include a swimming pool, laundry room, games room, playground, modern bathrooms, and free WiFi. You can also refill your propane tank and dispose of trash. There?s also a large, enclosed pavilion available for larger groups. The campground also hosts scheduled activities like wagon rides, movie nights, and bonfire socials. Boating and fishing venues are only minutes away, and a slightly longer drive of either 30 minutes to two hours takes you to countless landmarks and attractions in both Pennsylvania and New York.
