Getting Outdoors

Although swimming is not allowed in the main reservoir, take a dip on the west side of the Round Valley Reservoir in the designated swimming area, which was created by constructing an earth dam across a narrow waterway. Head to the beachfront to find several playgrounds and volleyball nets, changing areas, showers, and more. There’s also a concession building to purchase snacks and supplies.

Camping at Round Valley Reservoir

There are no RV accommodations at the Round Valley campground, but this is one of the few parks in NJ where you can tent camp in a rustic wilderness setting, either at the water’s edge or under the trees. There are around 85 family sites with fire rings, water, and pit toilets located on the eastern side of the reservoir that can only be accessed by canoeing, boating, or backpacking. This is a great way to retreat in nature; just be aware there are no trailers or vehicle access to the campsites.

Exploring the Area

Relax and recharge at one of Round Valley Reservoir’s three picnic spots, which all feature tables and grills, playgrounds, and restrooms. Choose from tree-shaded grassy areas at each end of the beach or dine outdoors on a hill that overlooks the park and reservoir. During your stay here, you might also want to register for the various historical and natural interpretive programs offered at the park throughout the year.

Thank you for making this a perfect experience. The van was exactly as I hoped it would be and the process was so quick and easy. I will definitely be using you again.

The RV was amazing as well as were the owners. They were very accommodating and flexible with time. We used the RV for transportation rather than to sleep in but the owners had everything set up in case we wanted to stay in it. They also allowed us to bring our medium sized dog and even provided a bed and other accessories for the trip for her. All in all it was a great experience and we would definitely rent from them again.
