Experience Pennsylvania’s Piedmont Region and Valley Forge
Take your camper rental from Bryn Athyn to the 1,600-acre Pennypack Park and breathe in the beauty of its woodlands and meadows covering rolling hills. This lush landscape is set off with wetlands and fields and laced with miles of trails perfect for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The park follows the slow-moving Pennypack Creek (also a fantastic place for fishing) as it winds through Montgomery County and joins the Delaware River.Pennsylvania's slice of the rugged Piedmont region is evident at Wissahickon Gorge. As the land gradually slopes down into the Atlantic coastal plain, the Wissahickon Creek drops more than 100 feet before it meets the Schuylkill River, a view worthy of a pause as you listen to cardinals, blue jays, and Carolina wrens. Stroll along the Forbidden Drive while walking alongside the creek, or give your legs a good workout as you find your way up steep wooded paths.Prepare your travel trailer rental from Bryn Athyn for an outdoor excursion with a history lesson at the interpretive Joseph Plumb Martin Trail in Valley Forge National Historical Park. Valley Forge served as the Continental Army's winter encampment under the leadership of then General George Washington. Explore the park's trails on a winter hike or pursue the hilly trails on Mount Misery or Mount Joy and understand how difficult the conditions must have been for soldiers as they trained here before pursuing the British from Philadelphia to New York.

Up Close with Bryn Athyn’s Architectural Gems
Bryn Athyn's historic core comprises four major buildings: Cairnwood, John Pitcairn Jr.'s Beaux-Arts estate; Cairncrest and Glencairn, his sons' residences; and the Gothic-styled Bryn Athyn Cathedral. Rent a motorhome in Bryn Athyn in late June for the annually held event “Landmarks in Lights” and take the trolley around the historic district for a look at all three buildings aglow at night.Individually, you can see the inside of the buildings on a self-guided or audio tour. The Cairnwood Estate was completed in 1895 for the industrialist and his wife. Decorative elements of the estate were influenced by classical Greek and Roman architecture, with some French Renaissance ideas thrown in. Several rooms in the house, mostly restored to its original appearance, are set up to resemble what the house was like when the family was in residence. Outside, follow the winding paths and explore the lush gardens.During their lifetime, the Pitcairn sons collected religious art from around the world. Today more than 8,000 items are housed in Glencairn Museum, once home to the family of Raymond Pitcairn. Aside from religious items dating back thousands of years, the museum also houses ancient Greek pottery, Assyrian stonework, and Native American artifacts. Gaze up at stained glass in the Great Hall, or climb the tower for a commanding look of the town. The seat of the General Church of the New Jerusalem, the century-old Bryn Athyn Cathedral, takes you back to medieval Europe with its Gothic and Romanesque-influenced architecture and hints of Norman elements. It's easily one of the most magnificent churches in Pennsylvania. Inside, the stained-glass windows, crafted using medieval methods, are a marvel to look at. Guided tours take you through the nave, the west door, and the small chapel.Food-wise, Bryn Athyn is a little bare except for Brazilian/South American fare on offer along the Pennypack Trail. The dining scene in Huntingdon Valley is more varied with Italian, Mediterranean, and Jewish classics. American quick bites and comfort food, as well as Asian fusion dishes, are also on the menu here. For a DIY meal, you can purchase what you need from several grocery stores around Huntingdon Valley. Rented this for tailgating at the Birds game—perfect setup and we had a great time! Phil was super helpful, answering all our questions and making sure we knew how to work everything. We’ll definitely be back for more, maybe even another Super Bowl run!
In short, we had the BEST time and are now hooked on traveling this way.Judith and Alan have created the perfect traveling nest. Having traveled cross-country numerous times, they have thought through all the little details that made our trip wonderful, simple, and organic. We enjoyed cooking on their Coleman-like stove outside on the picnic table vs using the alternative induction burner they also provided. Pots, pans, dishes, a sharp knife (so nice to have), flatware, spatula, strainer.... everything we could want and need to cook all our meals. Sleeping was heaven on earth! So comfy …. and with the back doors open to the lake, it allowed us to enjoy the harvest moon beams, its reflection on the still water, and nature's night sounds without worry thanks to the magnet screens protecting us. Below the bed in the "garage" area, Judith and Alan had chairs, starter wood, tools, a canopy we opened over the picnic table, and more..... Anything and everything our little hearts desired made our trip wonderfully memorable. The last thing I will mention is the awesome briefing Judith and Alan did regarding the van, its mechanical systems, where things are stored, tips from their experience of when and how to use the different items on the van, AND a personalized manual they created explaining all of what they covered in the briefing, just in case we forgot any of the details. We pulled away, prepared and excited to embark on our 1st van camping experience!!!!!Wish all of you the same fantastic experience!Yasmin & John
The rental experience with Samona was effortless. The time she spent with us when we picked up the camper was very helpful. The reference information she left in the camper was appreciated as well. The coach is extremely well maintained and was the perfect size for our vacation. Her quick communication and professionalism was also a huge plus. Upon return, I accidentally left a bottle of wine in the cabinet. She even returned that to me. I already looking forward to the next time we can rent from Samona.
