The Pennypack Preserve is a local hidden gem, where the elusive white-tailed deer and foxes can still be spotted.Nearby Wissahickon Valley Park is deceptively small, and yet, it somehow packs over 50 miles of trails for hikers, bikers, and horseback riding, and dozens of historical and geological sites are easily accessed from the trails. The creek is stocked with trout, and bass and sunfish can be caught, so don't forget to pack your rod and reel in your Flourtown luxury motorhome rental!Bring your Flourtown RV rental to French Creek State Park, the largest park in between New York City and Washington, D.C., and explore a verdant mix of forests, wetlands, and aquatic terrains. Choose from a variety of activities like hiking, fishing, and photography. The trails wind through mature, old growth woods. Remnants of old bridges abandoned forges, and mills still dot the park.
RV Parks
When you rent a Flourtown travel trailer, you’ll need someplace to park while you explore the area. Unfortunately, you’ll have to head out of town to find a few options. The KOA in West Chester features amenities like 30/50 amps, WiFi, a gem mine, and a pet park area.Brandywine Creek Campground, adjacent to the Marsh Creek State Park, provides the usual amenities like 30/50 amps, WiFi, a bathhouse, and a pool. Exploring the City
Although Flourtown is a small town, there’s plenty of things to do and see. The Morris Arboretum, owned by University of Pennsylvania, showcases over 13,000 plants, lovingly cultivated by the Arboretum’s staff. The Dorrance H. Hamilton Fernery (greenhouse) is the only freestanding victorian-era fernery in USA. Waterfalls, ponds, lush green ferns, and elaborate stone walls line the paths inside. Climb to new heights and get a bird’s eye view of the forest below. Imagine what it would be like to fly like a bird. There’s even a giant robin nest, complete with eggs.Guided tours by foot, bicycle, car, or trolley at Valley Forge educate visitors on what General Washington and his men endured during one of the harshest winters on the record.History lovers flock to visit the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Franklin Institute, and National Constitution Center in nearby Philadelphia. There are walking tours guided by experts, and some will dress the part, too. See historic homes in the Franklin Court, where notable people lived, including Ben Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson. There’s more to Philadelphia than history, though. Art, food (cheesesteaks, especially) and the LOVE sculpture are some of the other attractions that will make your adventure spectacular. Some of the world’s most famous artists’ works are housed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Notable artists include but are not limited to Diego Rivera, Claude Monet, and Vincent Van Gogh. Be sure to run up the “Rocky steps," made famous by the iconic Rocky movies.Over 1,300 animals makes its home at the Philadelphia Zoo, which is adjacent to Fairmount Park. Some of its residents, like the Amur leopard and the western lowland gorilla, are endangered, and the Zoo is actively working toward preserving the species. There are several fabulous restaurants, pubs, bars, and nightclubs mostly in the southern portion of the “Center City” area.At the end of a long day of adventure and sightseeing, be sure to stop for the classic Philadelphia Cheesesteak. Here’s a tip for a out-of-towner: a real cheesesteak place won’t call them cheesesteaks. They are simply “steaks” so should you see a Philadelphia restaurant advertising cheesesteaks, skip it. In a similar vein, if a cheesesteak restaurant offers other meals like burgers and chicken sandwiches, it’s very likely not a genuine cheesesteak shop.Jim’s Steaks, south of Independence Center, is a no-frills steak shop, established in 1939.Whether you seek history or nature in Pennsylvania, consider a travel trailer rental in Flourtown. Enjoy the local cuisine, embark on a day at the zoo, and take in the superb landscape. Rent an RV in Flourtown, PA and go explore all that Pennsylvania has to offer.
Rented this for tailgating at the Birds game—perfect setup and we had a great time! Phil was super helpful, answering all our questions and making sure we knew how to work everything. We’ll definitely be back for more, maybe even another Super Bowl run!
In short, we had the BEST time and are now hooked on traveling this way.Judith and Alan have created the perfect traveling nest. Having traveled cross-country numerous times, they have thought through all the little details that made our trip wonderful, simple, and organic. We enjoyed cooking on their Coleman-like stove outside on the picnic table vs using the alternative induction burner they also provided. Pots, pans, dishes, a sharp knife (so nice to have), flatware, spatula, strainer.... everything we could want and need to cook all our meals. Sleeping was heaven on earth! So comfy …. and with the back doors open to the lake, it allowed us to enjoy the harvest moon beams, its reflection on the still water, and nature's night sounds without worry thanks to the magnet screens protecting us. Below the bed in the "garage" area, Judith and Alan had chairs, starter wood, tools, a canopy we opened over the picnic table, and more..... Anything and everything our little hearts desired made our trip wonderfully memorable. The last thing I will mention is the awesome briefing Judith and Alan did regarding the van, its mechanical systems, where things are stored, tips from their experience of when and how to use the different items on the van, AND a personalized manual they created explaining all of what they covered in the briefing, just in case we forgot any of the details. We pulled away, prepared and excited to embark on our 1st van camping experience!!!!!Wish all of you the same fantastic experience!Yasmin & John
The rental experience with Samona was effortless. The time she spent with us when we picked up the camper was very helpful. The reference information she left in the camper was appreciated as well. The coach is extremely well maintained and was the perfect size for our vacation. Her quick communication and professionalism was also a huge plus. Upon return, I accidentally left a bottle of wine in the cabinet. She even returned that to me. I already looking forward to the next time we can rent from Samona.
