Discover Mountainhome RV rentals for memorable road trips

Mountainhome, and the neighboring towns, Skytop, Cresco, Canadensis, and Buck Hill, are all so small and closely located together that most locals in the Pocono area simply refer to them as the Barretts because they collectively make up the Barrett Township. Although records about Mountainhome are spotty, this much is known: it has been in existence since at least 1859, which was when the Barrett township was officially formed, and there are mentions of Mountainhome in the formal documents.

The Great Outdoors

Want an outdoor adventure, but dread dealing with a leaky tent, bugs, and rocky, damp soil? An RV rental is an easy solution for these problems. The RV will, of course, allow you to explore the state forests, game lands, preserves, and other parks with ease without having to book hotels. Mountainhome is a great spot to start in. It’s neatly in between the Pocono region, which is a catchall term for the massive collection of parks, and the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (also referred to as The Gap). The closest state park, Tobyhanna State Park, is an impressive 6,000 acres park with an almost 200-acre lake. The word, Tobyhanna comes from a Native American word that means “a stream whose banks are lined with alders.” Although this was heavily lumbered, there are still alders along the lake and the many creeks snaking through the park.

RV Parks

When you book a travel trailer in Mountainhome, remember to find a campsite so that you can hit the sack. There are several private campgrounds in the area, all with different degrees of services. Mount Pocono Campground, for example, has 20, 30, and 50 amps hookups, free WiFi, and is dog-friendly.

Exploring the City

Mountainhome is one of those towns that seems like it hasn’t changed in decades. Many of the buildings are mid-century style, and peppering the streets, there are several homes and buildings that date back to the turn of the century. Mountainhome Bowling Center turns out the lights on Saturday nights and glows neon! The bowlers are kept hopping with strobe lights, a disco ball, and funky vintage music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

Our family enjoyed the RV, with plenty of space for us to move around in. Very comfortable & plenty of accessories to help make our stay a lot more convenient. We would definitely book again!

Can't say enough good things about Adrian and his motorhome. Been renting Class A’s the last few years and this was our first diesel and the best we experienced, by far!
Rig was in new condition (looks better than the photos), fully stocked kitchen, linens, towels Etc. and drives like a dream! Adrian checked in with me throughout and everything worked flawlessly.
Literally can't think of a single thing that could've been better about it. Looking forward to renting this again and again!

The pick up was very easy to handle. The RV itself was very clean , and ready for us upon pick up. We had a wonderful time and will be back for our future trips.
