Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
Parkesburg is a municipality in Chester County, Pennsylvania. It began as the Fountain Inn, a tavern that was built in 1734; the inn lasted until 1836 when it was transformed into a post office. The surrounding area became known as Sadsbury Township around 1717 and remained so until 1872. It was renamed Parkesburg by the Pennsylvania Legislature after a prominent politician, John G. Parke (the community's new name was suggested by Parke's son, Joseph G. Parke). The town has two buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Parkesburg National Bank and Parkesburg School. The former Fountain Inn/post office later became a private residence.
