Discover Pelican Lake RV rentals for memorable road trips

It seems like the local communities all claim that their lake is the best lake for fishing, and where Pelican Lake is, is no different. Pelican Lake, locals say, has the best muskellunge and walleye population. Whether true or not, it’s certainly true that Pelican Lake is a scenic spot to enjoy the waters on. Surrounded by tall evergreen and hardwood trees, the blue sky yawns overhead, seemingly endless. Sunsets are often colorful and serene, soothing one’s soul as the light dims into darkness. Light pollution is minimal, and dark, starry skies dominate the evenings.

Getting Outdoors

The inkblot-shaped lake encompasses around 3,545 acres. Dense trees and shrubberies crowd the banks of the lake, providing shade to the shallower stretches of the lake. Though the clarity of the water is low, the dark water starkly contrasts with the vibrant green of the plants ashore and the blue sky. Anglers will be able to catch a wide array of fish, including panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and muskellunge. The latter three species are said to be exceptionally robust in this lake, and fishermen have been known to bring in trophy-sized fish. Five public launches along the shores invite boating, fishing, sailing, and kayaking.

Camping at Pelican Lake

Nix the hotel scene and wake up in an RV rental surrounded by nature. Waves washing ashore is a soothing sound to drift off to sleep. Birds function as alarm clocks, alerting people and wildlife alike that the sun has indeed risen once again. RV camp at Pelican Lake and catch a string of fish for dinner-or breakfast, your choice. Pelican Lake Campground has 50 sites spread out over 40 acres (each site gets nearly an acre to themselves), full hookups, and firepits. It’s also close to popular ATV trails.

Exploring the Area

By renting an RV, you gain access to the many small towns dotting northern Wisconsin. Chock-full of charm and warmth, the locals are friendly and welcoming. After a few minutes of testing the waters, they’ll happily swap local news and gossip as well as tips for fishing or hunting. Antigo is well known for its historic district. The buildings lining the main streets are historic, dating back to the turn of the century. It also hosts a handful of fairs and festivals throughout the year, which is a terrific way to find local artisans, crafters, and unique vendors.

Absolutely phenomenal people to rent from, they went way over my expectations with this whole situation. I was a little skeptical because I hadn’t ever done anything like this, but if you’re on the fence about renting from them, do it! You won’t regret it
