Lagunitas Forest Knolls is a census-designated place in Marin County, California, but is actually two communities that have been combined as one for logistical purposes. Both of the communities are mostly residential, each with its own downtown core, and are narrowly divided by geography. The citizens of each community see themselves as separate and individual from the other. San Geronimo Creek, one of the last spawning grounds for coho salmon, runs through both towns. Both towns have large stands of coniferous forests plus grass and other undergrowth plant species, giving the communities a natural environmental feel.

Search for an RV in Marin County and you have at your disposal a fleet of reliable vacation vehicles that will provide whatever you need. There are a few other towns that could be of interest to visitors. Petaluma once had a thriving poultry industry and was known as “The Egg Capital of the World”. Novato is a picturesque location for picnics, with rolling hillsides and lakes, and is home to one of the oldest vineyards in the area. San Rafael has been a set location for numerous movies, starting with George Lucas' first film THX 1138 as well as the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises. Sausalito was the setting for a 1980's song, "Sausalito Summer Nights", by the band Diesel. Stinson Beach was originally named Willow Camp after a tent camping site stretching amongst the willow trees lining the beach. A Lagunitas-Forest Knolls RV rental is the perfect vehicle for enjoying all of these potential destinations.

Point Reyes National Seashore is a protected recreational area where visitors can hike, go beachcombing, or view the exhibits in the visitor's centers. Samuel P. Taylor State Park is a perfect location to go walking and hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and much more. The park is populated with redwood, oak, and bay laurel tree stands, and a wide variety of flower species. One of the trails open for mountain biking is partially paved and partially runs alongside Lagunitas Creek and the remains of the North Pacific Coast Railroad.

Olompali State Historic Park is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Burdell, looking down on the Petaluma River and San Pablo Bay. The park is open year-round during the daytime but is gated after hours. Visitors can hike, go horseback riding, or enjoy a picnic. Layered clothing is recommended.
