This 20,000-square-foot complex pays homage to the Corps of Discovery’s 1804 expedition into the area surrounding Sioux City. Before packing up camp at Fort Defiance State Park, tour the Schroeter Diesel Technology Museum in Estherville. This is the perfect place for the self-proclaimed grease monkey to get lost in the evolution of the diesel engine. Collections housed in the museum include equipment, tools, operating manuals, and blueprints.
