Chicago, IL is two hours' drive away while Detroit, on the other side of the peninsula, is three hours' drive. “Brunson Harbor” (after one of its founders) started as a swampland before the completion of the canal in 1862, which drained the marsh and provided berthing area for boats. The town's name was later changed in honor of a Missouri senator who pushed for Michigan's statehood.

Great camper van. There was nothing we needed to bring other than food and clothes. It has all the amenities that you’ll need. The van drives like a dream and is very comfortable.
