Located close to Lake Michigan, right along the shores of White Lake, the small town of Whitehall is a destination off the beaten path. The area was settled originally in 1859 by Charles Mears. He was a noted lumber baron and, due to its strategic location, the village continued to grow. It was named Whitehall in 1862 and was incorporated as the Village of Whitehall in 1867.
