Begin your vacation by taking the best RV rental from Glenside to Fort Washington State Park on the edge of Montgomery County. The park is located between two 18th-century historic sites, Fort Washington and Valley Forge. Here you can find a wide variety of recreational facilities including softball courts, day-use picnicking areas, and 3.5 miles of multi-use trails. The Green Ribbon Trail runs along the banks of Wissahickon Creek and is suitable for hiking and biking throughout most of the year but doubles as a cross-country ski route in the wintertime.

Explore the City

Founded by pioneers Richard Wall and Toby Leech in the late 1600s, Glenside was the first settlement in this region and influential on the development of the area which is now known as Cheltenham Township. Before the end of the 16th century, the Wall family home had already been constructed in what is now Elkins Park. The family lived in this grand stone house for over 150 years until the mid-1800s. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house hosts the Richard Wall Museum, and if you’re interested in learning about the founders of Glenside, you can take a tour of its grounds and interior.

We just got back from an awesome trip thanks to Tailwinds Camper Vans. The brand new Noovo Plus camper was perfect! We were able to sleep two adults and two kids very comfortably, had a wonderful area to cook and prepare meals with an induction stovetop, microwave/air fryer and a good size refrigerator and freezer. We were able to be completely off the grid. The 40G water tank was easy to fill when needed *which for us was on day 3 (but we cook and clean a good bit), the toilet and gray water were easy to drain/clean. You fill the water easily with a hose from any spigot. We never had to plug the van in due to the inverter and solar panels that charge the van when you drive. It has bug screens for the back doors and the sliding door to keep the bugs out and screens for the windows. We used the van for 5 days straight and I could have gone longer. We drove to the Adirondacks and the van was easy to maneuver and park. You can feel the wind when driving on highways, so just be aware. Colette and her family were great to work with and they communicated very well although we had no issues. I would highly recommend renting from her. We are looking forward to our next trip!
