Abingdon’s location on the outskirts of Baltimore makes it a popular place to stay for travelers hoping to put a little distance between themselves and the center of the city. This gothic revival home has been preserved to retain its 18th-century look and houses some fascinating artifacts from the time period. The Hays House Museum is similar and was owned by a Harford government official in the 18th century. Volunteers at the museum frequently perform demonstrations to highlight what life was like in the colonial period.
