The quaint lakeside city of Osakis is located between St. Cloud and Alexandria. A city draped in history; many believe that the area surrounding Lake Osakis was first settled by Vikings over 12,000 years ago. Remains found in the 1930s of a Viking man and woman perpetuate this legend.
Osakis is shrouded in Native American folklore, and how the city became known as Osakis is still up for debate. The most likely explanation for the city's name is that it derives from an Ojibwe word meaning "place of the Sauk." Due to its mysterious history and its proximity to many gorgeous prairie lakes, there are plenty of reasons to book an RV in Osakis.
One of the best reasons to rent a campervan in Osakis is its location on the shores of Lake Osakis. This serene lake stretches over 11 miles long and is a hub for water sport activities for locals and visitors alike.
