Due to its proximity to the city, camping at Lake Monona isn’t possible; instead, campers will need to head south to Lake Waubesa, which is home to two RV-friendly campsites.

As the state’s capital, there is plenty to keep you busy when you camp in an RV near Madison. For a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, why not treat the whole family to a day out at the Henry Vilas Zoo. Up and running since 1911, this established zoo is experienced in providing an excellent day of entertainment. Stretching across 28-acres, and housing over 650 different animals, children, and adults alike will enjoy meeting the resident brown bear, giraffes, and tortoises. With no admission fee, there is no reason not to pay the Henry Vilas Zoo a visit whilst you’re in Madison.
