Getting Outdoors

Camping at Metonga Lake will also enable you to enjoy all that this lake and the surrounding area have to offer. At Metonga Lake itself, it is popular to swim, boat, and fish. Swimmers can enter the water anywhere they want as there is no designated swimming area. Be aware, though, that there is never a lifeguard on duty here.

Camping at Metonga Lake

At the southern tip of Metonga Lake is Forest County Veterans Park, one of the most convenient places in the area to camp when you are visiting this lake with a rental RV. This campground is open year-round, but guests should be aware that certain amenities like showers and flushing toilets are turned off in the wintertime to prevent pipe damage. During the warmer months, though, guests who camp here will be able to use a fish cleaning facility, a boat washing station, and more.

Exploring the Area

Crandon, which is located directly north of Metonga Lake, is one of the most convenient places to find both fuel and food while staying around the lake. This small town doesn’t have super fancy restaurants, but what they lack in elegance they make up for in-home cooking and taste. There are also a few different gas stations in town, some of which are oversized, which will be easy to navigate with even an oversized RV.

We had a wonderful experience staying in this camper. The owners were great about communicating. The delivery and setting up of the camper was very efficient. We will definitely rent from them again.

The camper itself is excellent! We arrived to our destination with it set up, awning out, a rug out front and lawn chairs set up. Communication was also excellent. Any questions I had were answered right away. I don't think it could have been any better! Thanks so much for making our weekend great!

Absolutely phenomenal people to rent from, they went way over my expectations with this whole situation. I was a little skeptical because I hadn’t ever done anything like this, but if you’re on the fence about renting from them, do it! You won’t regret it
