Small but mighty Lake Independence has a surface area of around 850 acres to splash in. Roughly teardrop-shaped, Lake Independence is purported to have excellent muskellunge fishing. Fishermen often reel in trophy-sized muskies. The lake is also home to a healthy population of northern pike and walleye, and a few other less-common species of fish. The southeastern shore of Lake Independence has a public boat launch, beach, and pier for people to enjoy. The Baker Park Reserve also runs a concierge stand at which small non-powered boats like kayaks and canoes can be rented.
Camping at Lake Independence
