Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
Goldsboro is a borough in York County, Pennsylvania, but it should not be confused with Gouldsboro, a village in Wayne County. Goldsboro was originally and unofficially referred to as Martinsville after a store owner, Martin P. Burger. The town's name was changed to Goldsboro in 1850 after the completion of a railroad in the community (the civil engineer who designed it was JM Goldsboro). Goldsboro was incorporated as a borough in 1864; however, the U.S. Postal Service recommends addressing mail to “Etters” instead of Goldsboro to prevent any confusion between the borough of Goldsboro and the village of Gouldsboro. Henry Etter was the owner of a tavern, slightly north of where Goldsboro sits today, in which a post office was established in 1838; once Goldsboro was entrenched in 1850, the USPS moved the Etters post office to Goldsboro but insisted that the post office's name not be changed.
