North Wales was an idyllic farming town with few residents until the North Pennsylvania Railroad laid down tracks and built a train stop in the mid-1800s. The town then grew around the railroad station quickly. Today, North Wales, PA is still a sleepy suburban town, and the streets are lined with Victorian and Tudor style homes.
The closest large town is Philadelphia, a little over 30 miles to the south. Allentown is roughly 35 miles to the north, and Reading, PA, (pronounced as “red-ding”) is a little over 45 miles west.
