York Haven is an incorporated borough in York County, Pennsylvania. The county was created in 1749 from an area formerly part of Lancaster County. In the 1960s, the city of York gained recognition as the first national capital due to its role as the location where the Second Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation in 1777. The Congress considered York to be a permanent capital of the country before that honor was granted to Washington, DC, but historians still debate the accuracy of the claim. York County also has a long list of notable people, including professional athletes, actors, politicians and the inventor of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, HB Reese.
