Dakotah Meadows RV Park

Twenty minutes south of Eden Prairie, on the shores of Prior Lake, is the picturesque and peaceful Dakotah Meadows RV Park. Owned and operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, this modern RV lot contains 122 paved sites with full utility hookups, and easy access to both rustic outdoor activities and flashy indoor entertainment. On-site amenities include a laundry, a small general store, a playground and meeting pavilion, showers, an RV wash station, and a display of traditional Dakota teepees. Guests are welcome to spend a night in one of these historic structures, which can fit up to ten adults. A free shuttle stops at the park to take visitors to the nearby casinos, Mystic Lake and Little Sioux, and the Dakotah! Sport and Fitness Center. The casinos also host entertainment venues and a variety of restaurants in addition to card tables and slot machines. Other nearby attractions only minutes away in Minneapolis include Valley Fair and the Mall of America.

Starting in Minnetonka, follow Interstate 494 north for 15 minutes, then turn west for six minutes to find Morris T. Baker County Park and Baker Campground. This venue emphasizes getting back to nature, so even though you can fit even a big rig on one of their 200 sites, you won?t have a full utility hookup. Electric is available, but not water or sewage. Guests can also rent cabins that include light, heat, fans, and a screened-in porch. If friends stop by, they can easily fit their tent on your spacious campsite, which is also equipped with a picnic table and fire pit. On-site amenities include a modern bathroom and shower facility that is fully wheelchair accessible. Lake Independence is nearby for swimming and boating activities, and the location is also connected to several bike paths.
