Breezy Hill Campground

One of the first places you’ll want to visit when you rent a camper near Breezy Hill Campground is Kettle Moraine State Forest. This stunning natural area is blessed with glacial prairies, pinewood forests, and four freshwater lakes. The rugged hillsides are speckled with wildflowers and threaded with over 30 miles of mountain biking trails. The forest is also an excellent starting point for day hikes, distance treks, or cross-country skiing. The forest’s trail network even provides access to the 1,200-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Meanwhile, the shady lakes and cool waters are ideal spots for picnicking and swimming or canoeing and kayaking. If sunbathing and swimming are your favorite activities, then a visit to Harrington Beach State Park should certainly be on your travel itinerary. The park boasts over a mile of the beach on the banks of Lake Michigan. Here, you can launch your own boat and explore the surface of the lake. On dry land, there’s plenty to see too. The surrounding lands host a mixture of white cedar swamps, grassland, and rich natural habitats. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the diverse flora and fauna on the park's hiking trails and bridleway. Alternatively, you can visit with a campervan rental in the winter season for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, or sledding on the frozen lake. Another highlight of the region is High Cliff State Park. Not only is this state park located on the northeastern edge of Lake Winnebago, the largest lake in Wisconsin, but it’s also home to striking limestone cliffs and unique American Indian mounds. The Effigy Mounds were formed by the region’s native nomadic tribes over 1,000 years ago. You can learn more about the park’s native heritage at the High Cliff Museum. Otherwise, you can discover the state park on foot, bike, or horseback. The park's network of trails can take you to the best viewpoints and historic sites, and during the winter season, visitors can explore with skis, snowshoes, or snowmobiles. There’s plenty to keep you busy on the lake too, from canoeing and kayaking to windsurfing and kiteboarding. You won’t get bored when you book an RV in Fond du Lac County.
