Waupaca S'more Fun Campground

You'll have lots of exploring to do during your Waupaca motorhome rental vacation. There are some great state parks in the area, and one of the closest is Hartman Creek State Park. This state park covers roughly 1,500 acres of woodlands ad waterways in the scenic Chain of Lakes region. This park has several lakes within its boundaries, making it ideal for a variety of watersports, including kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. There are a few different fishing piers, and catches at the lakes include panfish, perch, and bass. If you're looking to take a dip in the lakes, there's a 300-foot beach designated for swimmers. On dry land, there are over ten miles of trails that lead through the forest and by the lakes. Alternatively, you might want to visit one of Wisconsin's larger lakes. High Cliff State Park features rocky cliffs and verdant forests overlooking Lake Winnebago, the largest lake wholly in Wisconsin. This state park is a hiker's paradise, with several trails of varying difficulties. Some of the harder trails lead up the cliffs to a 40-foot observation tower, where you can see most of the lake and surrounding cities, including Oshkosh and Appleton. If you'd prefer to explore the lake, Lake Winnebago is perfect for water recreation with areas for boating, swimming, and fishing. Anglers will love Lake Winnebago, and catches include bass, walleye, and perch. One of the unique parks in this region of Wisconsin is Roche-A-Cri State Park. This heavily wooded park is special due to the Roche-A-Cri mound, a 300-foot-tall rock in the center of the park that is covered in carvings created by native people. Hikers will love the trails that lead up the rock's staircase, and the top of the mound provides stunning views of the woods below. There's also the nearby Carter Creek, which is a great spot for catching brook and brown trout. If you'd like a bite to eat, there are several picnic tables near the mound.
